Special requirements/restrictions for a .sg domain name are as below:

• Local presence is required for domain admin contact.
• Admin contact must login to SGNIC’s VerifiedID@SG & RegistryLock Portal with SingPass ID to verify the domain. Failure to complete verification may result in prohibited domain renewal and domain suspension by the registry.
• WebNIC offers a proxy service for .sg and .com.sg. and the fee is USD10 per domain per year.
• If domains subscribing proxy service:
  • Documentation is required to complete the domain verification.
  • WebNIC will assist on domain verification process within 1 business day.
  • The service applies only to the admin contact and does not cover the registrant contact.
  • It is essential that partners provide complete and accurate registrant contact information during domain registration, registrar transfers, or when updating domain records.
  • If any part of the registrant contact information is missing or incomplete, or if the required documents are not received, WebNIC will be unable to proceed with the domain verification process.
  • For existing 2LD.sg and 3LD.sg domains registered or transferred in on or before 20 July 2025, WebNIC will notify you if supporting documents are required, based on SGNIC’s request.
  • Domains that remain unverified may be suspended or enter the redemption period earlier than usual, in accordance with SGNIC policy.

.sg	Registrant can be either individuals or organizations from any countries Example: A .sg domain can have a Registrant from any country; however, the Admin must have a local presence with valid Singpass or Corppass. WebNIC offers a proxy service.
.com.sg	Registrant must be: (i) Either registered, or in the midst of registering, with the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), IE Singapore or any professional body in Singapore. (ii) Foreign companies. Example: A .com.sg domain can have a Registrant from any country; however, the Admin must have a local presence with valid Singpass or Corppass. WebNIC offers a proxy service.
.net.sg	Registrant must be the following entities in Singapore only: (i) Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) licensees (SBO individual licensees, FBO license or other licenses providing connectivity or value-added network services). (ii) Providers offering network-based data hosting services. Example: The Registrant of a .net.sg domain must meet the above requirement, and the Admin must have a local presence with valid Singpass or Corppass.
.org.sg	Registrant must be any societies, charitable bodies, and other organizations not classified elsewhere, whether registered or in the process with the Registry of Societies (ROS) or miscellaneous entities (e.g., Town Councils, Community Centers, People’s Association, Embassies) in Singapore only. Example: The Registrant of a .org.sg domain must meet the above requirement, and the Admin must have a local presence with valid Singpass or Corppass.
.edu.sg	Registrant must be an educational institutions registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Singapore only. Example: The Registrant of a .edu.sg domain must meet the above requirement, and the Admin must have a local presence with valid Singpass or Corppass.

Effective 21 July 2025, the following documents must be submitted for registrant verification under the circumstances outlined below:

1. Newly registered or transferred-in 2LD.sg and 3LD.sg domains using our proxy service
2. Modification of registrant contact details for all 2LD.sg and 3LD.sg domains using our proxy service, regardless of whether they were registered before or after 21 July 2025.

If partners did not renew or restore the domain name, it will be release for public re-registration approximately 58 days from the domain expiration date. Please note that domain re-registration is on first-come, first-served basis.
