What is Domain Backorder?

What is a domain backorder?

WebNIC’s Domain Backorder Service enables you to reserve a domain name that is currently registered but may become available in the future. Once the domain is released, our system automatically attempts to register it for you the moment it becomes available.

How do I place a backorder?

To place a domain backorder, follow these steps:

  • Log in to Partner Central
  • Go to the top left corner and select Domain Backorder Panel
  • Click Place Order > Enter your desired domain name(s) > Click Next
  • Select the domain(s) and click Place Order to confirm

Is success guaranteed when placing a backorder?

While we use advanced technology to maximize your chances, domain acquisition is not guaranteed, especially if multiple parties place a backorder for the same domain. If we are unable to secure the domain, the Reserve Price will be refunded, but the Service Charge is non-refundable.

What TLDs are supported for backordering?

Currently, our backordering service supports .COM domains. We’re working to expand support for additional TLDs, including .NET, .ORG, and various ccTLDs, in the near future.

Re-registration Price

  • ** Note: Your reserve price is refunded upon successful registration.

Service Charge

  • A fixed fee applied per domain request, non-refundable
  • Charged regardless of the backorder outcome.
  • Example: USD 5 service fee x 10 domains = USD 50 total
