Special requirement/restrictions for a .BR domain name are as follow:

  • Registrant and billing contact must be an organization or individual located in Brazil, with a valid local postal address, and a 2-letter state code;
  • Organizational registrant is require to provide its taxpayer identification number (CNPJ);
  • Individual registrant is require to provide a taxpayer identification number (CPF);
  • Configured name servers with SOA, NS and A-record are required;
  • The name servers must be listed in the domain name’s zone file before the domain being submit for registration;
  • .ORG.BR can only register by non-profit organization.

The registration for .BR domain name is process manually and requires at least 3-5 working days.

Only legal entities/organizations are eligible to register .ESP.BR and .FAR.BR domain names, the organizational registrant is required to provide its CNPJ number.
